The organisation earned its one-year VCT EMEA slot by winning the regional Ascension 2024 tournament.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-681898bc24393\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n<p>Since then, the team has undergone numerous roster changes, with Dom \u2018soulcas\u2019 Sulcas moving to Movistar KOI and rookie Kajetan \u2018kaajak\u2019 Haremski being acquired by Fnatic. In December last year, Apeks also became the first tier-one VALORANT organisation to sign a Game Changers player by acquiring Ava \u2018florescent\u2019 Eugene.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-681898bc24965\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n<p>However, during VCT Kickoff and the ongoing Stage 1 event, Apeks has been struggling. The team failed to win a single series and has already been eliminated in the Stage 1 Group Stage.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-681898bc24f3e\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n<p>Governor had joined Apeks only one month ago, replacing Tautvydas \u2018hype\u2019 Paldavicius for VCT EMEA Stage 1. The American player has been competing in VALORANT since its beta days and previously played for TALON in VCT Pacific.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"esi-heading-681898bc25571\" class=\"esi-heading \">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span id=\"governors_statement-2\">Governor\u2019s Statement<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-681898bc25b6e\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Governor_Val\/status\/1917267532282749228\">personal statement<\/a> on social media, Governor shared further details about his decision to leave Apeks: \u201cI\u2019ve been dealing with some hand numbness\/pain and it\u2019s been affecting me both physically and mentally. I\u2018ve been seeing professional help and doing my best to play through it but at this point I know it\u2019ll be best for everyone if I just take a proper break.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-681898bc26150\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n<p>He also expressed disappointment regarding his competitive performance this season and apologised to his fans.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-681898bc26727\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n<p>Governor\u2019s departure comes shortly after Apeks\u2019 star duelist florescent announced her VALORANT <a href=\"https:\/\/esportsinsider.com\/2025\/04\/flor-leaving-apeks-for-2025-vct-season\">hiatus<\/a> due to a series of personal issues.
